UCSI University

UCSI University is one of the first private universities in Malaysia. Admission requirements
Bachelor’s degree:
  • Average grade: from 2.0 (CGPA) or equivalent (A-Level, IB, etc.);
  • For engineering: physics, chemistry, mathematics are required;
  • IELTS 5.0.
Master’s degree:
  • Average score: from 2.5 (CGPA); from 2 – with 5 years of experience;
  • For Master of Accounting: minimum 2.75;
  • IELTS 5.0, motivation letter, CV.
PhD:
  • Average score: from 3.0 (CGPA); from 2.5 – with 5 years of experience;
  • IELTS 5.0, motivation letter, CV.
Additionally :
  • Portfolio – for programs in art, design, architecture, music;
  • Interviews are held in a number of areas (medicine, psychology, pharmacy, music).
 
Cost and accommodation
Training:
  • Bachelor’s degree: $4,285 – $7,143 / year;
  • Master’s: $4,762 – $9,524 / program;
  • PhD: $8,571 – $11,905 / program.
Accommodation:
  • On campus: RM 700–1,800/month;
  • Off-campus: RM 600–1,400/month;
  • Utilities: RM 30–100 / month.
Food and personal expenses RM 400–800/month;
  • Payment for accommodation is made in advance for the semester.
 
Required documents for admission
International applicants must provide the following documents:
  • Completed application form: available on the official website of the university.
  • Copy of foreign passport: all pages, including blank ones; passport must be valid for at least 2 years from the date of application.
  • Academic documents: certificates, diplomas and transcripts with official translation into English if the originals are not in English.
  • Passport size photographs: as required by the university.
  • English language proficiency certificate: IELTS, TOEFL, MUET or proof of study in English are accepted.
  • Medical certificate: including results of laboratory tests and a medical examination carried out in an accredited clinic.
Additional documents:
  • Declaration letter: in case of discrepancy in name or date of birth between passport and academic documents; must be certified by the Ministry of Education of your country or a notary.
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC): For students from Sudan; issued by the Sudanese Embassy in Kuala Lumpur.
  • Eligibility Letter: For students from Iran, issued by the Iranian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur.
Main expenses
Below are estimated costs for international students:
  • Registration and administrative fees:
  • Registration fee: RM 450 (approximately USD 125).
  • Administration fee for international students: RM 4,200 (approximately USD 1,135).
  • Refundable deposit: RM 1,000 (approx. USD 270); refundable upon completion or termination of studies if there are no outstanding balances.
  • Visa and medical examination fees: included in the registration fee.
Scholarships
UCSI provides scholarships and grants for international students. The amount and conditions depend on academic performance, creative achievements or financial circumstances. Discounts and support through partner programs are also possible.
