Nilai University is a private university located in the picturesque town of Nilai, Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. Established in 1998, the university is accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia and the Qualifications Authority (MQA), ensuring high quality of educational programs.
 
International environment and convenient location
The university campus is spread over 105 acres (42 hectares) and is a true university town with modern infrastructure: academic buildings, dormitories, sports complexes and administrative centers are all in one place.
The University is located just 20 minutes from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and 30 minutes from the centre of the Malaysian capital.

Academic programs
The University offers a wide range of programs in English:
Bachelor’s Degree
The programs are designed for 3-4 years and include the following areas:
• Business and Management – ​​Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) with the option to specialise in marketing, finance, digital marketing, HR and logistics.
• Information technology and engineering – software engineering, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, internet engineering.
• Biotechnology and Health Sciences – Bachelor’s degrees in Biotechnology and Nursing.
• Tourism and hospitality – hotel management and event management.
 
Master’s Degree
• MBA is an intensive one-year program (or 2 years part-time), with a focus on strategic management, analytics and innovation.
• Specialized MBA – in marketing, finance, HR.
• Master in Business Management, Master of Applied Sciences, Master of IT – for professional and academic growth in the chosen field.
 
Preparatory and diploma programs
• Foundation – a one-year course preparing for a bachelor’s degree.
• Diploma — 2 – 2.5 year applied programs in business, IT and other specialties.
 
Online and Distance Learning (ODL)
Nilai is actively developing distance learning programs, allowing students to combine study with work:
• MBA ODL – flexible online MBA.
• Bachelor of Science in ODL – Software Engineering, International Business, Nursing.
• Short-term courses and micro-qualifications in C++, Java and other in-demand areas.

  • The university closely collaborates with more than 400 companies in Malaysia and abroad: Intel, AirAsia, Hilton, Dell, CIMB, Tune Hotels and others.

International programs and double degrees
Nilai University offers study abroad opportunities through the following schemes:
• 2+1: two years in Malaysia + one year at a partner university (e.g. in the UK).
• 3+0: full education in Malaysia, diploma from a foreign university.
Partners include the Glion Institute of Higher Education (Switzerland) and Oxford Brookes University (UK).
 
Admission requirements
Foundation (1 year):
• Certificate after 9 or 11 grades.
• IELTS 5.0 or internal test.
Diploma (2–2.5 years):
• Certificate after 11 grades.
• Minimum grade of D or C.
• IELTS 5.0 or equivalent.
Bachelor’s Degree (3–4 года):
• Certificate with high marks / diploma / Foundation.
• IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 60+, или Nilai English Placement Test.
Master’s Degree:
• Bachelor’s degree with a GPA of 2.5/4.0.
• IELTS 6.0 or above.
Semester start dates (approximate):
• Foundation / Diploma / Bachelor: January, May, July, October
• Master’s: January, May, September
It is recommended to submit documents 2-3 months before the start.
 
Cost of education and living
Annual cost of programs:
• Foundation: RM 16,000–18,000 (~3400–3800 USD);
• Diploma: RM 17,000–20,000 (~3600–4200 USD);
• Bachelor: RM 19,000–25,000 (~4000–5300 USD);
• Master’s: RM 20,000–25,000 (~4200–5300 USD);
Accommodation and meals (per year):
• Dormitory: RM 3,600–7,800 (~750–1600 USD);
• Meals: RM 4,800–7,200 (~USD 1000–1500);
• Other expenses: RM 2,400–3,600 (~USD 500–750);
Total expenses: USD 1800–3800 per year.
Required documents for admission
International applicants must provide the following documents:
  • Completed application form: available on the official website of the university.
  • Accommodation Application Form: If on-campus accommodation is required.
  • Copy of foreign passport: all pages, including blank ones; passport must be valid for at least 2 years from the date of application.
  • Academic documents: certificates, diplomas and transcripts with official translation into English if the originals are not in English.
  • Passport size photographs: 8 pieces, 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm, on a white background.
  • Completed health declaration form: including laboratory test results and medical examination.
  • English language proficiency certificate: IELTS, TOEFL, MUET or proof of study in English are accepted.
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC): Only for students from Iran, Sudan and Oman.
  • Certified statement of discrepancy in name or date of birth: if the name or date of birth on academic documents differs from the passport.
Main expenses
Below are estimated costs for international students:
Registration and administrative fees
  • Registration fee: RM 700.
  • Visa application fee: RM 1,060.
  • Medical examination: RM 250 (one-time).
  • Student insurance: RM 400 per year.
  • Student Pass: RM60-110 per year (depending on country).
  • I-Kad (student card): RM 50.
  • e-VAL (Visa Confirmation Email): RM 159 (one-time).
Scholarships
Nilai University provides partial academic scholarships covering up to 30-50% of tuition fees.
