MAHSA University
MAHSA University is a private medical school located in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. It was originally founded in 2005 in Pusat Bandar Damansara as a college, but by 2009 it had received university status.
The initiator of the establishment of the university was Professor Tan Sri Dr Mohamed Haniffa, a practicing physician and the Executive Chairman of the MAHSA Group. His main goal was to develop an academic space capable of producing highly qualified specialists in the field of medicine and other sciences.
MAHSA University has received full accreditation from the Malaysian Qualifications Authority (MQA) and is recognized by the Ministry of Education Malaysia as an officially registered online university.
According to the QS World University Rankings , MAHSA is ranked 7595th in the world. The university has about 6,000 Malaysian students and 1,200 international students.
Educational philosophy
MAHSA strives to go beyond standard classroom teaching. The main focus is on preparing students for real professional work. This is reflected in the signature PRIDE (Professional, Industry-Ready Education) program and a series of practice-oriented master classes. The online platform ELEVATE allows students to study in a flexible and innovative format, regardless of their location.

Educational programs and directions.
The university started with two study programmes but today offers over 30 accredited courses based on the Malaysian model, as well as joint programmes with Anglia Ruskin University, UK. The programmes cover a wide range of specialisations:
- Health Sciences: Bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs are offered in medicine, dentistry and pharmacy.
- Nursing: Diploma, bachelor’s, and master’s programs in nursing are available.
- Health and Biomedical Sciences: Students can choose from undergraduate and graduate programs in biomedical sciences, medical laboratory science, bioinformatics, and other specialties.
- Physical Therapy: Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Physical Therapy are offered.
- Other areas: The university also offers programs in business, engineering, information technology and education.
Medical specialties are also implemented in partnership with Northumbria University (UK).
The university’s modern laboratories and medical centers are considered to be among the best equipped in the country – each student has access to personal equipment. MAHSA also offers double degrees: after 4 years of study, you can receive two degrees – local and British.
Admission requirements
To enroll in a bachelor’s degree after grade 11, you will need to complete a preparatory program such as A-Levels, IB, Foundation, or complete the first year of university in your home country.

For admission, an IELTS certificate (from 5.5 points) or TOEFL (on request) is required. For the master’s degree – from 6.0 points and above.

Bachelor’s degree:
– Medicine (MBBS): RM428,200 (~USD107,050) for 5 years;
– Dentistry (DDS): RM435,500 (~USD108,875) for 5 years;
– Pharmaceuticals: RM184,320 (~USD46,080) for 4 years.
Master’s degree:
MBA: RM 38,420 (~USD 9,600) for 1 year;
MBA in Healthcare: RM 38,840 (~USD 9,700);
Medical Sciences (Anatomy): RM39,140 (~USD9,800) for 2 years.
Additionally, you should consider the costs of accommodation, food, transportation, study materials and health insurance.
Accommodation and personal expenses
Accommodation: RM 1,500 to RM 18,000 per year, depending on type of accommodation and preferences.
Medical insurance: about RM 2,500 per year.
Personal expenses: approximately RM 1,000 per year.

Registration and visa fee: about RM 5,900 (~USD 1,475)
Required documents for admission
International applicants must provide the following documents:
- Copy of International Passport: Passport must be valid for at least 16 months from the date of entry into Malaysia.
- Academic documents: certificates, diplomas and transcripts with official translation into English.
- English language proficiency certificate: IELTS, TOEFL, MUET, Cambridge English, PTE Academic or proof of study in English are accepted.
- Medical certificate: confirmation of physical and mental health.
- Vaccination certificate: if required, depending on the country of origin.
- Passport size photographs: as required by the university.
- Proof of financial solvency: documents confirming the availability of sufficient funds for education and living expenses.
- Signed Letter of Acceptance: Once you have received an offer of admission, you must sign and return the letter of acceptance along with the required documents and payment.
